People's ignorance astounds me! Midmoguy89, is it your true belief that the Betts shouldn't have been charged since one was injured while engaging in illegal activity? There was a fire fight on tape and the police had evidence from a previous incident. By all means, let's fail to charge them for their criminal activity due to injury. Let's only charge one of the gun handlers because he had better aim... Your biased comments due to your obvious distain for officers of the law should be canceled :)

Connor, I was thinking the same thing... That cop was one lucky SOB to see such compelling evidence just laying around whole looking for a potentially dead body ;)

Are the transcripts going to be of the entire private hearing? If so how would one go about obtaining them after the decision is made? I'm curious to see if they contain information/reasons that have not been released to the public yet!!!

No, what I'm saying is I do not believe that the press was able, for whatever reason, to publish the truth in it entirety. The facts that I have written were no secret. Every elementary school parent within the Blair Oaks district received a letter at the start of this school year stating everything mentioned above. The letter clearly and plainly stated that the elementary students had failed state testing 3 years in a row, if there was another elementary school we could, by state law, transfer our students to the non failing school without issue but since there wasn't they would do everything in their power to bring up the standard of education at Blair Oaks elementary. I am merely suggesting that this, three years of failing state tests, might have had an impact on her reasons of dismissal... I'm just curious as to why no other parents have thought of this option

I find it terribly amusing that I so thoroughly made my point that they only thing you are able to do is "blast" my spelling opposed to address the actual issues that I pointed out. I suppose it was my ignorance that led me to believe that I was commenting via my phone to a newspaper post not writing a professional letter or school paper where I needed my grammar and spelling checked prior to 'turning it in' so that the feeble minded would be able to look past mere words and see the point as a whole. Even if it is facts that some don't like to hear. I'm sorry that the truth has hurt you so badly that you have fallen to childish insults! I'm sincerely sorry that you are so narrow minded and blind by your obvious relations with the woman that you (whom I am guessing might just be a teacher by your name 'teach349') are no longer concerned with the needs of the students. What a shame!!!! Feel free to enlighten me as to how my personal relations "someone you probably don't even know" are relevant to the failures of the school?

Yet another hearing for Winslow?!! To all you parents that are so determined to keep her as principle; it's really sad that your are fighting to keep someone in control of your children's failing education based soley on politics and the fact that she's a 'nice' person. There is certainly more to her not being renewed than the papers have reported. Perhaps if you paid even the slightest bit of attention to the education level that your child is recieving (hence the letter you ALL received reguarding Blair oaks elementarys failure to properly teach your children and give them the education that they deserve at the beginning of this school year) you would see that it's time for a change. Failing state mandated testing three years in a row is simply unacceptable!! If your children were enrolled in Jefferson city public schools, lets say Belair just for kicks, and for three years in a row they failed to pass state testing every single parent of a child attending said school would have the option to move their elementary age child to another elementary school where they could/would get the education they need and deserve to succeed later in life. Unfortunately there is only one public elementary school in the Wardsville, Taos, St.Thomas area so parents are stuck sending their children to a failing school hoping for a drastic change in the level of education. After three years of failure it's only fitting to make changes at the top due to obvious failure of the principal to make necessary changes within the school to enable the growth and development of all children enrolled at Blair Oaks Elementary. The children's needs should come first and thank God the school board sees that since so many parents out here are quite obviously blind to this fact!!!
