Dan 2 months, 2 weeks ago on Osage Beach police caution against huffing

Makes you wonder just how far down Darwin's chain an individual has to be to think this is a good idea. Here I thought I was a "wild and crazy" guy sneaking a couple of beers when I was a kid. The times they are a changin'.

Sounds like they attract the wrong element out there. I doubt Ms Eboni was defending herself. I believe people should be allowed to carry firearms, but getting liquored up or "messed up" and shooting a few rounds is not the right image for law abiding 2nd amendment supporters.

Boy, this is sickening to think about. In today's crazy world you'd think that security cameras on something as critical as the hotel's water supply would be essential, but it doesn't sound like we are talking about a very nice hotel.

Dan 2 months, 3 weeks ago on Pentagon notifies Congress of likely furloughs

Interesting how the Government seems to be so very sensitive to notifying employees of furloughs with the impending sequestor but it wasn't the least bit concerned prior to the election about Defense contractors not complying with the Warn Act when we had a major fiscal problem and ran out of authority to spend money. What hypocrisy?

Dan 2 months, 3 weeks ago on Mo. House bill makes proposing gun control illegal

I'm new to the Tribune posts here, but I see that, like on other pages, there are some that think you can legislate problems away. Whether you're talking about the Ten Commandments or Laws, simple words don't stop wrongful actions. Bad people will do bad things. All this Gun Control rhetoric is just that. We can pass law after law and it will stop nothing. Our Country's value system is out of whack and we'd better address that pretty quickly. Hard work, saving, abiding by our laws is not rewarded. Inappropriate behavior is rewarded. People game support systems and use them for unintended purposes. Family values and the family unit is under attack. Judeo/Christian values are under attack. Our morality comes from Hollywood for goodness sake.

Relative to the subject of this post. Politicians need to stop posturing and do something productive. Law abiding, mentally stable citizens should not have their rights to defend themselves or our Country because of the actions of a few. Let's peel back the onion and make sure we see the real agenda being pushed here.

Don't know the full story but this sounds like another professional "victim" case to me.

Dan 2 months, 4 weeks ago on Could the next pope come from the United States?

It's important to elect the right pope for lots of reasons. The Pope has influence, al beit limited, over 1.2 billion people. This further influences how the World thinks, again within limits. Most important of all is to elect a Pope that creates an atmosphere where the crimes and corruption of the past are not tolerated. There is too much good to be done.

Does anyone think he'll use his winnings to pay his hospital bill? I'm guessing fellow taxpayers picked up the tab for this numbskull.

Can you really respect Obama? Do things like these worry you: Fast and Furious, a nuclear Iran, Occupy Wall Street, George Soros, Cap and Trade, Agenda 21, Muslim Brotherhood, Guantanimo, "we'll have to pass it to find out what's in it", voter ID, essentially open borders, essentially pandering to illegals with amnesty, gutting our military, a foreign policy that makes us the laughing stock of the free world, we are just the checkbook for the IMF, and a National Debt that just continues to grow despite all the markers that say a crisis is inevitable. He has divided America by race, faith, and economic station. He has reversed our work for welfare programs and destroyed the hopes and dreams of people because people now look for a handout instead of a hand up. He is destroying small business with regulations and uncertainty. He's go to make us Greece at best; Cuba at worst. What's to like about this guy?

Dan 8 months, 1 week ago on Clinton: Obama showing way to more modern economy

This lying excuse for a former President is a disgrace. The best thing that happened to Clinton was a loss of Congress and his shift toward the center forced by Republicans. If he hadn't done that he would not be remembered for anything but the "blue dress". He turned a blind eye to the Middle East while he was fighting Whitewater and the Lewinsky fiasco and trying to keep from being thrown out of office. Years the Muslim extremists made good use of. Of course he can claim the Community Reinvestment Act, which turned out to be the genesis for our housing crash and subsequent economic debacle. What a guy! Libs love him though, go figure. They can forgive a lot - I can't.
