Dan 2 years, 8 months ago on Obituary for Frances Ann Eiken

"Quiet, kind and prayerful" are very appropriate words for Frances Ann. She was always kind and had something nice to say. May she rest in peace. My sympathies to your family.

Agree Kentheco. There was a time when leaving money to you community or your church was an honest method to give back. Maybe I have grown cynical but there is no way I'd do this today.

Dan 2 years, 10 months ago on Pakistan: 10 foreign tourists, local guide killed

So the savages killed three Ukrainians, two Slovakians, two Chinese, one Lithuanian, one Nepalese and one Chinese-American because they wanted to strike back at America. Sounds like 9 of the 10 wern't even close to being the right profile. Are these people stupid in addition to being pure evil?

Dan 2 years, 10 months ago on Obama, Xi signal new start with walk in the desert

Oh gag!!! At least he didn't go into the desert for 40 days......actually, that would have been a good deal.

Dan 3 years ago on Flight delays pile up amid FAA budget cuts

Baloney. I listened to a talk show the other night and the show had a very experienced pilot speaking on the subject. You got unions supporting the WH on this one. Congress offered the administration the opportunity to manage the sequester and they turned it down. BTW, how does such a small reduction in spending translate to such a large staff reduction? Once again, the goal is to maximize the pain. Sad, isn't it?

Dan 3 years ago on Obituary for Geri Eveler

My condolences to the Eveler family. Sister Geri's life is an inspiration and, even in death, she causes us to reflect and smile. Who else would become a Certified Laughter Leader? God bless you, Sister.

Dan 3 years ago on Missouri House endorses sweeping gun proposals

I would take exception to Rep Newman's comment of "shameful". The only thing shameful is politicians promoting all sorts of legislation that purports to stop or slow down violence when in fact it seduces people into believing the legislation will be effective when all it does is impede law abiding people. Bad people will always have guns - laws or no laws. They care little about mag limits, barrel length, waiting limits, forms and law enforcement checks.

Dan 3 years, 1 month ago on Three dozen indicted in Atlanta cheating scandal

Terrific! This is bad stuff, folks. This isn't robbing a liquor store criminality; this is cheating parents and, more importantly, kids out of their futures. Now, it may be that the little darling, tattooed, blinged out, "pants on the ground" hoodlums didn't want to learn, but that's when you call it like you see it and tell them their future is a self imposed bleak one. Theres no way to dress up a pig like this.

So when this self fulfilling prophecy happens and these young people become the welfare recipients and convicts of tomorrow, who loses............you and I, folks, you and I.

Dan 3 years, 1 month ago on Pope’s foot-wash a final straw for traditionalists

Church Law? Tradition is one thing, Law another. I've been a Catholic for 64 years and I don't think the actions of Pope Francis broke any laws. This kind of discussion sounds like pyromaniacs looking for gas cans!

Dan 3 years, 1 month ago on Missouri lawmakers advance eating disorder legislation

I get a little annoyed by stats that don't always appear to pass the common sense test. How do you get to a point where, supposedly, 500,000 out of 6 million Missourians suffer from an eating disorder - that's 1 out of 12 without more of a furor along the way we got there. These folks with causes that on the surface seem worthwhile appear to be nothing more than self-promotions when you dig a little deeper.
