I knew what these ordnances entailed and that is why I supported them. The limited abilities of our elected officials warrant removing as many responsibilities as possible. Leave the simple stuff to the council and prevent political interference in the day-to-day hiring/firing practices of the city’s employees. There are still controls in place should the need arise. Maybe now our glorious leaders will start down the road of learning what we truly need instead of what they think we want.

I am disappointed. Earlier this year the News Tribune had an article about these windmill part shipments but now they can't find say where they are coming from? This is an excellent use of available at work resources by the reporter.

The victim, Elizabeth Olten, deserves to have her name included in the lead for this article. This is as much about her as it is about Miss Bustamante and we need to remember her.

This article leaves me wondering about the political slant of the News Tribune. (Not really but it sounds better.) Why is it that only news stories (if you can call them that) that detract from republicans are included online in their entirety? All other stories are truncated, requiring us to get a hard copy of the paper or log on to the online version to read the complete story.

Purchases provide taxable income and generate sales tax revenue in the process reducing government deficient. Besides, I like Somnolent’s music, especially “Wooden Winged” and “With You.” Please use a different adjective.

Why is she supporting business at Cirilla's by trying to prevent competing stores from opening? Is this part of a plan to keep the number of stores at one to maximize revenue at a single source location? Let’s allow some reasonable amount of competition to keep our costs reasonable.

Poor minds mislead by mass propaganda run rampant on websites against nuclear power. Too bad there are so few comments either for or against an expansion at Callaway that are by individuals educated in any form of energy production. Most anti-nuclear individuals have no real basis for their comments other than parroting the comments of others. How about some original thoughts here? Talk to people in West Virginia watching their wonderful views being changed from mountains and valleys to flat plains. What about pollution from miles long trains carrying coal to plants that each release more radioactive pollution each year than TMI. These same plants also raise the CO/CO2 content of the atmosphere and raising the earth’s temperature. Check out average energy costs in Texas, with its own separate power grid, and compare them to what we pay with our inports from other states. Let’s hear some real arguments here, not fear mongering and red hearings.
