Bob_in_Boston 3 years ago on House tries to outlaw federal federal gun laws

Not sure how anyone could believe that this law would be unconstitutional - the constitution says what authority the federal government has, and it's actually very limited. The constitution clearly lays out what the federal government can do and regulating people's rights isn't in there. The federal government has an obligation to prevent states from infringing on their citizen's constitutional rights, but the Feds do not have the authority to regulate those same rights. The constitution says that any power not specifically granted to the federal government is retained by the "several states and the people". The Feds have been working for decades to try and convince everyone that their authority supersedes the states, but it doesn't.
