Because walmart cost cities more than they bring in. They pay near slave wages that force their workers onto welfare. The employs dont help the economy because they can only afford the bare minimum. Now compare walmart to costco, where the average employee earns 60k a year with benefits. More communities should either tell walmart take a hike or inprove wages

I think the decision is a no brainer but doubt you will see any net savings. I highly doubt it is as big problem as republicans claim. They need a boogey man to blame for problems and they chose to attack the poor rather than going after the biggest welfare, corporate welfare. After all they do have to pay back all those campaign donations. I have yet to see any positive movement to bring jobs to missouri even after 10 years of control. Many jobs still dont provide a living wage and no benefits. More and more companies hire temps to keep expenses low while increasing executive pay to unheard of numbers. Stop giving tax breaks to unresponsible and deadbeat companies and reward the ones that provide better jobs. Ie compare sams club to costco.
Edit: a word

Why didnt they mention kill rates at other shelters? Could it be because the kill rate for cats is three times higher than the average rate at other shelters? Keep contacting your council people about this. Demand change. Dont let your elected council person pawn you off on the city paid administrator who is not elected.

Good luck on hiding it now. National media has been allerted and a animal rights group is sending a investigater. Dont give up the fight. The current city administration is part of the problem and we shouldn't stop until he is fired along with the animal shelter director and the officer who knowingly gassed a pet no matter how much they try to sweep this under the rug

Walmart is one of the largest private employers in the us. When a employer that large sets the bar as low as they have every other employer follows. Currently in jc they are hiring college educated tech employees at $10/hour. There are simply not enough jobs in jc to be filled by all the people seeking them. Are we to blame people who are college educated in high skills area for being underemployed. They cant controll that the united states has the most expensive healthcare in the world while simutaniously being the only developed nation without affordable healthcare. Can we blame the recent college grads for living in a employment situation where all worker rights have eroded over 30 years because baby boomers have forgot what their grandparents fought for? To think that 10 years worth of wars would of provided every single american with healhcare but instead it went to other nations. To think companies like apple and google paid so few taxes while hiding enough income intax havens also sickens me. What happened to boomers so much they would sell out the younger generation after being provided for by their parents?

Thats the problem. There are a abundance of deadbeat employers now who dont provide medical coverage and pay horrible wages. They then encourage their workers to apply for welfare. Look at the two states that have finally cracked down on walmart and are suing for that cost. Furthermore, how is someone earning the average walmart wage, currently $9/hour, to afford ANY healthcare at all. Are they to die of a simple illness that could be cured in any third world country but not in the us. Where a typical cost to visit a doctr could be a entires month wage for the uninsured?
