Like it or not we are going to get this convention center crammed down our throats. LOL, now if we can just get the IRS to come in once a year for a 4 million dollar meeting!
The News Tribune has definitely gone downhill since the Weldon’s sold it!.
OK, I believe in the 2nd Amendment! Do I think the punishment is a little extreme, well maybe. Now did anyone notice the little toy is a replica of a WW2 German Luger? How ironic….
The most effective roundabout they could put in would start east of Jeff City, take Hwy 50 and “roundabout” it to the west of Jeff City and completely get rid of the useless so call expressway through town!
How refreshing to see school children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance! Way to go Russellville school district….
I keep asking this question but neither the city nor the state seems to want to give me an answer. Why has the state not designated the old penitentiary as a State Historical Site? Given the age of the institution, it was not only instrumental in the growth of Jefferson City but also plays a great roll in the very history of Missouri. I am all for the development of the area but I do not believe the city should shoulder the burden of paying for something they do not own and could be razed at any time by the state. Surely the state can see its historic value!
This is just one more reason why I do not trust our local elected officials anymore than I do those on the state or federal level. This city needs to learn what most of us have had to do and that is live within a budget. When I need or want something I can’t go out and raise the money by trying to get a tax passed. I have to somehow budget it into my current income or do without. The city needs very badly to learn this lesson. And yes, I am going to vote no on any new tax increases!
No surprise here! If you drive the speed limit you get passed by most other drivers and are in danger of getting run over, drivers run stop signs, they tailgate, cut in front of you and talk or text on their cell phones. What is law enforcement doing about the situation? We don’t need more laws, we just need enforcement of those on the books and we are not getting it!
See, there are much better ways to spend money than waste it on a Convention Center!
What part of no does the city fathers not understand! The only reason I can think of for this to have hung on for twenty years is that someone is going to get a payoff.
