Nicole Roberts covers the Jefferson City Council, city departments and the Jefferson City Housing Authority. Some topics she has reported on include redevelopment of the city-owned property at the Missouri State Penitentiary, stormwater issues, demolitions and improvements along East Capitol Avenue. Before joining the News Tribune, Roberts was editor-in-chief at The Standard, Missouri State University's newspaper. She graduated from Missouri State University in May 2017 with a bachelor's degree in print/internet journalism. While in college, she played clarinet in the Missouri State University Pride Band and continues to perform with the Jefferson City Community Symphonic Concert Band.
