Current tally Obama 43%, Romney 51% will be about the final result in November.

I would have expected Romney to do better than that in Missouri. Voters are dumber here than in other states -- are they not?

Seeing as how the News Tribune, fixed the "re-voting" problem after noticing and deleting my post but not resetting the poll I would not consider this an accurate representation of how individuals will vote in the upcoming election.

We are going to keep this poll going for quite a while. We are also going to post other polls in the near future. What would everyone like to see?

The end of the campaign, the end of the really ugly negative ads, the end of the robocalls, the end of single-issue shrillness, and the end of artificial divisions based on appeals to prejudice and fear. That's what I'd like to see.

CMNI_Webmaster 8 months, 1 week ago

more specifically I was asking what polls you would like to see. Would anyone like to give input as to what questions they would like to see on our site?

Can't think of anything at the moment but will put my brain in gear to come up with an answer.

How many people would write Ron Paul in on the ballot?

Is Graceful male or female? There's much reference to both, and Grace won't say. Is Sequoia actually a tree? Should the state's gasoline tax be re-allocated to expand Amtrak's routes into a triangle of KC, StL and Springfield, and allow a connector to Columbia? Hint: yes! Now that the CVB is under new, um, leadership; can we please move the JeffTran transfer point back downtown where any sane person or planner would put it if there were only one!? Should Jim Dyke be traded for a Middle School cartoonist and a puppy to be named later? Does a human life began at conception or at consciousness? Should the government, at any level, steer energy policy away from carbon by offering incentives to develop and use non-carbon energy. Will the Cardinals make the playoffs again this year? Is Rick Brown a person or software?

Rick Brown is the News Tribune online editor.

If I were a piece of software, I'd like to be Linux Mint 12. It's a pretty neat little OS and it's free. Wait, it's code named Lisa. Okay, scratch that idea. Maybe Ubuntu 11.10. Just call me: Oneiric Ocelot, online editor, News Tribune

Romney is ahead by 4%!

We can't afford 4 more years of Obama. The real question is why wouldn't we vote for a proven leader with economic skills in Romney? If Obama had done his job, we wouldn't be asking the question.

dokeus6 7 months ago

And you can sit there and think the United States can go back to the failed economic policies that landed us in the condition we are in today? The economic crisis didn't happen in the last four years Scooter.

And I really don't think having someone who chops up businesses when they are bankrupt and sells the pieces off for a profit is a good business model to establish the future of our country on.

dokeus6, according to all these Republicans that is what they want, I hope its just a passing fad! VOTE OBAMA and McCASKILL IN 2012! Rob

I will be so happy when the election is over, however, I never would have ever thought so many people in Jeff City think the way they have posted on here

I voted for Obama, because polls are flawed. Actually I didn't, or did I?

Bush messed up spending too much, this I agree with. When can we stop blaming Bush for Obama's failed four years? Romney is not Bush, or Reagan, and thank God not Obama. Romney has succeeded at EVERYTHING he has done in his personal and professional life. Why would we vote for 4 more years of a do nothing with socialist ideology when we can have a guy who will actually work every day and who understands economics, and who knows how to vet things properly with tough questions based on decades of success? Romney is a winner, and he will help this country with its debt problem. More govt is NOT the answer and for Obama, all roads lead to a bigger fed and more spending, enough already!

TomScooterJones 7 months ago

You can feel it cant you? The left is getting more desperate by the hour...IT'S OVER. They can't stop the trend, just like the right couldn't stop the emotional feel good voting 4 years ago. Obama is the type of candidate (not properly vetted and inexperienced ) you get when you vote with your emotions and feelings, Romney is what you get when you look at the facts and use logic, a proven leader and winner.

"Bush messed up spending too much, this I agree with." -- Me too. Democrats should love Bush based off his spending because Obama has doubled down on what Bush spent. Bush spent like a Democrat now Democrats are blaming Bush for spending us into this mess which our current President is doing more of to solve the problems of the previous President. You can't make this stuff up.
