Josh Stevens of Fulton, right, won first place honors in the professional division in the 2013 “Game of Logging” statewide competiton at Viburnum. Wilth him is logging trainer Joe Glenn. Contestants were judged on various skills, including the precision tree felling event, where he hit the target. Stevens won $1,000 and a new chainsaw.

Josh Stevens, who operates a forestry management business in Fulton, has earned bragging rights as the state’s top professional logger. It was an honor he wasn’t expecting. He was competing with professional loggers, mostly from the Ozarks.
