Water from Lake of the Ozarks rapidly flows into the Osage River when all 12 floodgates of Bagnell Dam are partially opened. The photo was taken in August after a 10-inch rainfall caused flash flooding in local rivers and creeks. An emergency drill put on by Ameren last week was in response to a similar, but worse, situation.
