Retired Peabody miner Steven Crooks, left, 63, of Winslow, Ind. holds a sign up during a protest by the United Mine Workers of America, in front of the federal courthouse in St. Louis before marching to Peabody Energy headquarters on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013. Ten union mine workers have been arrested following a protest outside Peabody Energy headquarters. Workers and retirees were seeking to draw attention to what they consider poor treatment from Patriot Coal Corp., a company spun off from Peabody five years ago. A hearing on Patriot's bankruptcy was Tuesday in St. Louis. Mine workers said the protest was a bid to save health care and pension benefits that could be stripped away in Chapter 11 proceedings.
