This Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 photo shows the Cargill beef processing plant in Plainview, Texas. Cargill announced on Thursday that it will idle the plant and lay off all 2,000 workers because of a tight cattle supply following years of drought. The company said workers in Plainview will be let go Feb. 1, and plants in Friona, Texas, Dodge City, Kan., and Fort Morgan, Colo., will get cattle that previously would have been sent to Plainview.
