During each halftime of the Blair Oaks boys and girls home basketball games, a raffle was held to select one fan to take a chance at hitting a half-court shot to win a cash prize donated by Mid-America Bank. The prize went up $100 in each game where the shot was missed and Thursday’s game was the final one the prize would be offered and the jackpot had risen to $1,800. Mike Lutz of California (left) won the jackpot after he sank his shot. Lutz donated half of his prize back to Blair Oaks. Mid-America Bank then said if Blair Oaks superintendant Jim Jones could hit a halfcourt shot, it would donate another $500. (At right) Jones celebrates after hitting his shot.
