Maura Pardoe, 9, California, takes a practice shot before Sunday’s Elks 513 Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest at the Helias Catholic High School Fieldhouse on Sunday. Pardoe finished second in her age group as about a dozen kids competed for a chance to compete at the district level.
