More than 300 library patrons came out Saturday to help celebrate the construction of a new library building in Ashland, Mo. The morning event featured a jazz band, snacks, a ribbon cutting and a “book brigade” of community helpers who delivered materials from the old building to the new one.

Hundreds of book lovers came out Saturday morning to celebrate the imminent opening of a new library building in Ashland. In a largely ceremonial brigade, patrons conveyed bags of books filled with library materials to the new facility.
