U.S. Marine Jose Santiago thanks the students, faculty and community at large for “taking care” of his buddy, Cpl. Tyler Huffman. Santiago is one of the Marines who helped to save Huffman’s life after he was shot by a sniper in 2010 in Afghanistan. He is one of four Marines brought to Jefferson City to help celebrate Veterans Day and to see Huffman get his new home.

More than 1,100 Blair Oaks students gathered in the high school gymnasium Friday morning for an hour-long Veterans Day assembly to honor the men and women of the U.S. military.
