Officer Michael J. Tufts, a New Bloomfield Police Department officer, is in critical condition at University Hospital in Columbia after a truck he was driving was hit by a Columbia man arrested for manslaughter and dirving while intoxicated. A passenger in Tufts' vehicle, Michelle E. Morrow, 24, Columbia, was killed in the crash.

Officer Michael J. Tufts of the New Bloomfield Police Department is in critical condition at University Hospital in Columbia after a vehicle accident in Columbia. The vehicle Tufts was driving Thursday night was hit by a vehicle driven by a Columbia man who was arrested for involuntary manslaughter and DWI.
