Passers-by use a hose from a cement mixer and bottles of spring water to douse the fire as they rescue Giovanna De Monte. She was extracted from the wreckage by civilians as rescue personnel arrived, and she and her sister, who was removed from the wreckage early, were airlifted from the scene.
