Demonstrators with painted faces chant slogans Friday in support of the Russian punk group Pussy Riot whose members face prison for a stunt against President Vladimir Putin, in St.Petersburg, Russia. Pussy Riot members are charged with hooliganism connected to religious hatred, but the case is widely seen as a warning that authorities will only tolerate opposition under tightly controlled conditions.

Supporters of the punk rock band Pussy Riot bared their breasts, covered their faces with ski masks and cross-dressed Friday in a series of raucous protests that stretched from New York to Copenhagen to denounce the musicians’ conviction in a Russian court.
