Many nationwide businesses, restaurants and corporations have certain requirements when choosing new locations, City Administrator Nathan Nickolaus says, and one of the most common requirements centers around population figures. Nickolaus said Jefferson City has a metro area of 150,000, but that count is not valid to many corporations.
