Geneva M. Lammers, 100, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Center. She was born on August 23, 1913, in Osage County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Henry Baker and Elizabeth Mary (Owens) Baker. She was united in marriage on December 25, 1931, to William H. Lammers, who preceded her in death in 1958 Geneva, in addition to being a wife and mother, worked in the shoe factories in Jefferson City. She also worked many years at Menu Makers Foods. She retired from the Jefferson City Public School system in 1981 where she was in food service. She belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church of Jefferson City where she was a member of the Evening Guild. She was a long-time member of the American Legion, Post 5, Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and reading. More than anything else, she loved her grandchildren. Geneva is survived by a son: Larry (Judy) Lammers of Columbia; a daughter: Marilyn (Floyd) Woody of Holts Summit; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son: Bill Lammers; and two grandchildren. Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at noon with the Reverend Samuel Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Hospice Compassus, Trinity Lutheran Church, Jefferson City or Immanuel Lutheran Church, Honey Creek.
