Mrs. Mary E. "Mett" Lee, age 94 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the Capital Region Medical Center. Mary was born February 29, 1920, in Elston, Mo., the daughter of Moss E. and Verna Lee Myers Jones. She was married on August 22, 1942, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Samuel Lee who preceded her in death on June 7, 1970. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Mary was employed at Von Hoffmann Press for several years and later as a baker at Gerbes West Supermarket until her retirement in 1983. She loved reading, sewing, gardening, and was a great cook. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include: one daughter, Donna Carol Boyle of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters, Grace Clark of Jefferson City, Mo. and Doris J. Wunderlich and her husband Jim of Jefferson City, Mo.; two grandsons, James Boyle II and his wife Angie and Scott Boyle and his wife Valerie; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Sharon E. Lee; her son-in-law, Jim Boyle; and three sisters, Ruby L. Thompson, Cecil P. Jackson, and Billie S. Welch. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2014. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2014, in the Freeman Chapel. Private graveside services and interment will be conducted at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans or the charity of their choice.
