Lois Lucille Gibson, 72, was embraced in the loving arms of the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 13, 2014. With her at the time of her death in her home were her husband, Joe; son, Marvin; and daughter-in-law, Pam Gibson. She was born in Springfield, Ill. on April 9, 1942, to Kenneth Seward and Hazel Trader Todd who preceded her in death. Lois married Robert "Chappy Joe" Gibson on Feb. 15, 1969, who survives of the home. She was preceded in death by Robert Eugene Seward, brother; Mary Lou Hopping, sister; Mildred Yeaman, foster sister; Mary McDaniel, stepsister; Elmer Todd and Clarence Todd, stepbrothers. Surviving are her son, Marvin (Pam) Gibson; three granddaughters, Christina Hyunh, Melissa Hudson and Bethany Gibson all of Havana, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Jacob Hyunh, and Elizabeth Hudson all of Havana, Ill. Three sisters, Hazel (Ronnie) Beard, Cheryl (Chico) Chabez, and Jessie Phillips; one stepsister, Dixie (Harry) Seiss; one stepbrother, Milo (Dolly) Todd all of Illinois. Lois was a member of the New Bloomfield Christian Church in New Bloomfield, Mo. A celebration of her life will be held at the New Bloomfield Christian Church on Saturday, April 19, 2014, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, Ill., at a later date. "The treasures in life are not always in the material possessions we have, but in the memories we make with the people we love." Lois was one of those rare treasures and will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved her.
