Robert E. Cleveland

Mr. Robert E. Cleveland, age 63 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., formerly of Fulton, Mo., passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at his home. Robert was born on April 28, 1949, in Petersburg, West Virginia, a son of Elvis and Pauline Burgart Cleveland. He was married on June 1, 1968, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Marcia Nelson, who preceded him in death in 1996. On November 20, 1998, he married Sharon Smith in New Bloomfield, Mo. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Robert graduated from Jefferson City High school. Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed as a security officer at the Juvenile Treatment Center in Fulton for many years. He was an active member of the United Pentecostal Church and enjoyed attending church activities and services. He was also a member of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5. In his pastime, Robert enjoyed taking photos of old barns, listening to gospel/christian music, researching on the computer, and loved horses. He cherished time with his family, especially his granddaughters. Survivors include: three daughters, Dorothy Carel and her husband Kevin, Denise Wray, and Lisa Wray and her husband Adam, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; one step-daughter, Mishelle Golden of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Dale Cleveland and his wife Carol of San Antonio, Texas.; eight grandchildren, Sabrina Moore, Maria Carel, Jassmyn Reberg, Paul Reberg, Dusty Cleveland, Bradley Wray, Andrew Wray, and Saharra Webb; and his beloved fur persons (Chihuahuas). He was preceded in death by his father; his first wife, Marcia Cleveland; and one grandson, Brandon Wray. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the United Pentecostal Church, 119 South Grant St., Jefferson City, Mo. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the United Pentecostal Church with the Reverend Richard Ward officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the United Pentecostal Church.
