Mr. Brandon J. Higgins, age 23 years, of Holts Summit, Mo., passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Brandon was born on September 19, 1989, in Columbia, Mo., a son of Lance M. Higgins and Elizabeth A. Durham. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Brandon was a 2008 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo., and was a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity. He was currently working at the Truman Hotel in Jefferson City, Mo. Brandon was an extremely creative person and enjoyed drawing and painting in his free time. His main passion was skateboarding during his free time and hanging out with his friends. He was very close with all his family and loved spending time with all of them. Survivors include: his mother, Beth Durham of Holts Summit, Mo.; his father, Lance Higgins; his girlfriend, Samara Kay Frausto of Jefferson City, Mo. who is expecting the birth of their child in September 2013; maternal grandmother, Diana Durham of Jefferson City, Mo.; maternal grandfather, Clarence Durham of Fulton, Mo.; paternal grandfather, Gene Higgins of Truman Lake, Mo.; one brother, Joseph Higgins of Holts Summit, Mo.; two half sisters, Lana and Kahli Higgins; three uncles, Rick Durham, James Higgins and his wife Cathy, and Andy Higgins and his wife Ashley; four aunts, Cindy Rains and her fiancÈ Chancey Sherman, Barbara Durham, Laura Schaefer and her husband Mike, and Janet Graham and her husband Kerry; and numerous cousins, especially Jessica Rains and Chris Rains that he grew up around; great-aunts, great-uncles, and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Higgins. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2013. A Celebration of Brandon's Life will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2013, in the Freeman Chapel. Graveside services and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery.
