Marvin F. Herigon U.S. Veteran

Marvin F. Herigon, age 70, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born April 4, 1943, in Morrison, Missouri, the son of the late Joseph B. Herigon and Rose (Groner) Herigon. On June 6, 1964, Marvin was united in marriage to Marilyn Koenigsfeld, who survives at their home. Marvin attended St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary, Hannibal, and graduated from Chamois High School. He then attended Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, before joining the United States Air Force where he was stationed at Blytheville, Arkansas. While in Blytheville, he also worked for Pepsi Cola. Marvin was co-owner of Coleman-Herigon Appliances and later owner of C&H Refrigeration. His repair service brought him in and out of many local restaurants and bars where he is remembered by most for his signature royal blue jumpsuit. He was an avid NASCAR car racing fan. He enjoyed hunting and bird watching. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Along with his loving wife, Marilyn, Marvin is survived by their five children: Rodney and LeQuita Herigon, Dennis and Doris Kempker, Mitch and Heather Herigon, Jill Herigon, and Matt and Hollie Vaughan, all of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren: Austin Kempker, Bryce Kempker, Hunter Herigon, Zach Herigon, Ryder Vaughan, Rubie Vaughan, Brandon Garver, Blake Garver and Brett Garver; four great-grandchildren: Payton, Kyleigh, Brooklynn and Katlynn; four siblings: Shirley (Clarence) Stieferman, JoAnn Herigon, Marilyn Dierking, Jerry (Cathy) Herigon; sister-in-law: Lorene Herigon; and many other nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe Herigon. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Houser Millard Funeral Home with a prayer service to be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment with full military honors will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Disabled Veterans Fund or St. Francis Xavier Church.
