Charlene Baye Randle U.S. Veteran

March 12, 1963 - January 16, 2013

Charlene Baye Randle, 49, of Jefferson City, entered into eternal peace Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born on March 12, 1963, to Mary Vail and Nathaniel Stanciel in Mississippi. She received an Associate's Degree in Computer Science from ITT and was working to complete her Bachelor's Degree at Columbia College. Charlene served in the United States Army as a Computer Machine Operator and received the Army Service Ribbon and Expert Qualification Badge. Charlene was employed by the State of Missouri. She worked for various departments for over 15 years. Charlene was a dedicated employee and a very hard worker. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Jefferson City, Missouri. She humbly served as the Assistant Youth Director and Youth Mission Counselor for the Sun Beams. Charlene loved the Sun Beams with all of her heart. She taught them to be honest, fair and instilled the values of hard work, diligence, and a spirit for the Lord. She was truly like a second mother to many. Her passion for youth and discipline led her to this calling and she was truly heaven sent. When the word matriarch comes to mind we think of someone who is older, but Charlene was truly one of the matriarch's of her family. She was a powerful force who held everything together. She was often called on for advice, a friendly shoulder, or a sympathetic ear. Everyone who met Charlene left a changed person. She was a hospitable woman full of energy and warmth. She radiated kindness and care to all those she came in contact with, and those close to her knew they were loved. Charlene had the patience to stand back and listen, the courage to speak up when necessary, and the wisdom to discern which response was appropriate. She was honest, caring, and a woman after God's own heart. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband Darren Randle; mother-in-law: Hattie Randle; her loving children: Demetrius Stanciel, Kenneth Scruggs, and Felicity Johnson; her siblings: Naomi Johnson, Belinda Jordan, Barbara (Nette) Taylor, Darlene Stanciel, Eula Wilkerson, Dorothy Cannon, Dewane Peterson, Rose Robinson, Nathaniel Guyton, Barry Guyton, Shamar Stanciel; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends who loved her deeply. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Vail, in 2004. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Second Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Cornell C. Sudduth officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
