James “Mike” Michael Scheulen

July 15, 1956 - February 20, 2013

Mr. James Michael "Mike" Scheulen, age 56 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at his home. Mike was born July 15, 1956, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of James M. and Beverly Brewster Scheulen. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Mike was a 1974 graduate of Cole County R-5 High School in Eugene and he attended Lincoln University. Mike enjoyed history, politics, and college football. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mike was employed as the manager of the Scheulen family auto parts business, Capitol Auto Parts in Jefferson City for 27 years. Later he was employed with I.S.S. and currently was the bookkeeper for J. Pfenny's Sports Grill and Pub. Survivors include: his mother, Beverly Scheulen of Jefferson City, Mo.; two brothers, Daniel L. Scheulen of Jefferson City, Mo. and David Brewster Scheulen and Connie Joseph of Jefferson City, Mo.; his aunt, Lorna Wyss of Jefferson City, Mo.; his uncle, Dudley Brewster of Venice, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Scheulen; one brother, Randy Scheulen; his paternal grandparents, Monroe and Lorene Scheulen; and his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Daisy Brewster. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Monday, February 25, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m., Monday, February 25, 2013, in the Freeman Chapel with Brian Hufendiek officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Mike Scheulen Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
