Mrs. A. Jeanette "Diddle" Hedglin, age 78 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, February 9, 2013, at her daughter's home surrounded by her family. Diddle was born June 12, 1934, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Richard and Johnnie Agnes Martin Thompson. She was married on January 11, 1958, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, Mo. to Max Hedglin. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Diddle attended Jefferson City Public Schools. She was employed with the Tweedie Footwear Factory, McGraw Edison, Chesebrough-Ponds, and most recently in food services with the Jefferson City Public Schools until her retirement in 1991. Diddle was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, sewing, gardening, canning and was an expert homemaker. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include: her husband of 55 years, Max Hedglin; four daughters, Brenda Bailey and her husband Bruce of Florissant, Mo., Denise Spaunhorst and her husband Harry of Jefferson City, Mo., Tina Dulle and her husband Todd of Crestview, Fla., and Myrita Holtcamp of Jefferson City, Mo.; three step-sons, Max R. Hedglin, Jefferson City, Mo., David Hedglin of Augusta, Ga., and John Hedglin of Macon Ga.; three brothers, Donald Thompson, Melroy Thompson, and Harley Thompson, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Shirley Thompson; and two brothers, Milo "Pete" Thompson and Kenneth Thompson. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Russ Bowder officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
