Lloyd W. Kimball U.S. Veteran

October 20, 1921 - January 31, 2013

Lloyd W. Kimball, age 91, of Eldon, died Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Eldon Nursing and Rehab. He was born in California, Missouri, on October 20, 1921, a son of the late Ray and Pearl (Patterson) Kimball. On November 7, 1941, in Jefferson City, he was married to Catherine Steinman, who preceded him in death in 1998. Lloyd was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Eldon Knights of Columbus Council 7133 and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eldon. Lloyd enjoyed woodworking, fishing and was a family man. Those who survive him include: seven daughters, Carolyn Sue Cornett and husband Larry of El Mirage, Arizona, Barbara Powell and husband Ed of Eldon, Jane Hoffner and husband Mike of Eldon, Jackie Rains and husband Lymon of Athens, Georgia, Sylvia Kimball of Jefferson City, Anna Leffert and husband Steve of Eldon and Judy Bear and husband David of Friendswood, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. One daughter, Mary Kimball; two grandsons, William and Larry Powell; two brothers, Lawrence and Kenneth Kimball and one sister, Margie Walker, also preceded him in death. Mass of Christian burial will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eldon. Mons. Donald Lammers will officiate. Interment with military honors provided by the Miller County VFW Post 2442 will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens near Barnett. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Memorial contributions are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or a charity of the donor's choice. Girls: I am sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. I will always remember him coming to help my dad with the old furnance back on the farm. Your Father was always one to help out in his own quite way.

I wish I could have come to Eldon to express my throughts but had a business trip schedueld for the week.
