Flossie “Evelyn” Langvin

Flossie "Evelyn" Langvin, 87, of Lake Ozark, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach. On August 22, 1925, she was born in Broseley, the daughter of the late Oliver Greene and Flora Della (Hisaw) Swain. On June 7, 1947, in East St. Louis, Ill., she was united in marriage to John Langvin, who preceded her in death on March 1, 1996. She was a longtime, active member of the Assembly of God Church in Barnett. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and active in the PTA. She enjoyed bowling and fishing. Flossie was devoted to her family and her church. Her children said she was the kind of mother and grandmother everyone wishes they could have. Survivors include: daughters and son-in-law, Mary and Vern Weise of Lake Ozark; Linda Kish of Kaiser; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Joyce Langvin of Dallas, Ga., and John Langvin III of Lake Ozark; six grandchildren and spouses, Deby and Greg Spangler, Susan and Jeff Pirkey, Adam Langvin, Jeff and Dawn Hill, Jonathon and Annie Kish, and Angelique Kish; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Thunhorst of Morrisonville, Ill. and Betty Breckenridge of Paragould, Ark. Nine brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Funeral Service will be on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Assembly of God Church in Barnett with Rev. Janice Sidebottom officiating. Interment will follow at Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett. Memorials are suggested to New Life Assembly of God Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon.
