Frederick “Fred” Bernard Bure

October 22, 1937 - March 29, 2013

Frederick Bernard "Fred" Bure, age 75, of Argyle, departed this life Friday, March 29, 2013, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. He was born on October 22, 1937 at Argyle, a son of Joseph and Johanna (Renneke) Bure. Fred was united in marriage on May 19, 1973, at Westphalia to Mary Josephine Falter, and to this union, three children were born. Fred was a lifelong member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, and a member of the Argyle Knights of Columbus Council No. 2047. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, taking care of his cattle and chickens and just being outdoors. Fred had worked for Quaker Window Products Company, Freeburg, and retired in 1999 as the Foreman in the Patio Doors Department after 41 years, and he was also a lifelong farmer in Maries County. Those left to mourn the passing of Fred include: his wife, Mary Bure of the home near Argyle; one son, Mark Bure, Argyle; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Travis Rehagen, Westphalia, and Jennifer and Michael Wood, Holts Summit; six grandchildren, PVT Destiny Rehagen, New River Air Base, North Carolina, Dillon Rehagen, Jacob Rehagen, and Joshua Rehagen, all of Westphalia, and Elaina Wood and Kaleb Wood, both of Holts Summit; one brother and sister-in-law, Anton "Curley" and Rita Bure, Westphalia; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Leo Bure, Joe Bure, Steve Bure and Herb Bure; and three sisters, Rose Bure, Hermina "Minnie" Poposky; and Gertrude Blanks. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Fred at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating. Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle. Visitation will be held for Fred from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2013, followed by an Argyle Knights of Columbus Rosary and Prayer Service at 7 p.m. and from 9-10 a.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013, all in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle. Masses are preferred by the family with envelopes available at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, or the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
