Mrs. Geraldine A. Adams, age 84 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center. Gerri was born on September 10, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of Paul Vernon and Thera Kerr Gebert. She was married on July 26, 1947, in Maryville, Mo., to Kyle Rex Adams Sr., who preceded her in death on January 2, 2000. Gerri graduated from Maryville High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo. A resident of the Jefferson City area for the majority of her married life, Gerri was employed as a cashier at West Elementary School for many years. She later became a receptionist at Dr. Frederick Tietjen's office and retired as an administrative assistant at Dr. Jack Sander's office. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Jerry was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, and most importantly, spending time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include: four sons, Kyle Rex Adams Jr. of Jefferson City, Mo., Stephen Paul Adams and his wife Jeanie of Jefferson City, Mo., Timothy Jon Adams and his wife Roberta of Baldwin City, Kan., and Christopher James Adams and his wife Paula of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Dick Gebert of Arlington, Va.; four grandchildren, Jessica Schlup and her husband Jason of California, Mo., Scott Allen and his wife Delayne of Fort Benning, Ga., Kyle Adams of Baton Rouge, La., and Joel Adams and his wife Bethany of Littleton, Colo.; four great- grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kyle Schlup, and Abbey and Sophia Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rex Adams Sr.; and one sister, Nancy Lank. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2012, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Donald Carter officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
