Sharon Marie Hampton, 48, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at her home. She was born May 29, 1963, in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of Clement A. Tydings and Shirley (Wasmund) Tydings. Sharon worked in nursing for 20 years and for the past six years worked in the kitchen at the Tipton Correctional Center. She enjoyed doing craft work with beads, painting and going to garage sales. She is survived by two children: Danielle Marie Helmig of Jefferson City and Jacob Hampton of California; her mother: Shirley Tydings of Jefferson City; her father: Clement A. Tydings of Georgia; one brother: Jess Edward Tydings of Jefferson City; and four sisters: Colleen Schleinghsinger of Jefferson City, JoAnne VanArk of Jefferson City, Kathy Huskey of Camdenton and Wendy Neely of California. Friends will be received from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Graveside services and will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012, in Riverview Cemetery.
