Debbie Ann Smith, 44, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012, at her home. She was born August 2, 1967, in Mexico, Mo., the daughter of Raymond and Bernita (Wieberg) Hake. Debbie was a 1985 graduate of Mexico High School in Mexico, Mo. She was currently employed as a Paraprofessional with the Blair Oaks School District, where she assisted special education students. She also worked part time manager at Pizza Haus in Wardsville. Debbie enjoyed reading, and playing computer games, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters: Montana Dawn Smith, United States Navy currently stationed in San Diego, Calif. and Maryland Smith of Jefferson City; step-son: Dakota Smith (wife Victoria), United States Navy currently stationed in Newport News, Va.; eight siblings: Virginia Fennewald (husband Marty) of Laddonia, Helen Hake of Beaumont, Texas, Kenneth Hake (wife Billie) of Sedalia, Mary Jordan (husband Danny) of Statesville, N.C., Janet Jones (husband Randy) of Thompson, Jeanet Minnick (husband Steve) of Mexico, Ronald Hake (wife Debbie) of St. Roberts and Nancy Buchmeier (husband Chuck) of Curryville. Memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at the Blair Oaks High School Gymnasium with visitation to follow. Interment will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Debbie Smith Children's Educational Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, 636-3838.
