Mrs. Ialeen Fischer Scott, age 97 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, March 12, 2012, at Oak Tree Villa Nursing Center. She was born December 5, 1914, near Tuscumbia, Mo., the daughter of John and Nellie Sooter Fischer. She was married to Ray B. Scott on May 22, 1934, at her grandparents home near Tuscumbia, Mo. He passed away December 5, 2004, after 70 years of happy marriage. She retired from the Division of Employment Security in 1978, and enjoyed 20 years of volunteer work at Capital Region Medical Center and visiting shut-ins and friends in nursing homes. She was a lifelong member of First Church of God since 1930. She enjoyed growing flowers, walking, cooking and taking food to the sick. Most of all she loved God praising Him for all the blessings and things that made her life so pleasant. She is survived by three sons: Ronald Scott (Jennie) of Keokuk, Iowa, Raymond Scott (Lynda) of Stockton, Mo. and Richard Scott (Susan) of Springfield, Mo; along with 10 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and a host of loving friends and acquaintances were a large part of her life. She was the last of her immediate family, being preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be at First Church of God from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at First Church of God with the Reverend Rob Kespelher officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
