Letta Claudine Vaught, 71, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born June 21, 1940, in Hardy, Ark., a daughter of the late Paul L. and Nora L. (Porter) Pitts. She was a graduate of Russellville High School in Russellville. On January 17, 1959, Letta was united in marriage in Holts Summit, to Jerry D. Vaught, who preceded her in death in 1983. Letta worked for International Shoe Factory, Von Hoffmann Press, and also did child care in her home. She enjoyed doing puzzles and reading the Bible. She is survived by two sons, Kevin D. Vaught (Sheila Wilson) of Iberia and Jerry J. Vaught of Columbia; and two grandchildren, Ashley and Karen Vaught. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ricky D. Vaught in 1976; two brothers, Jim Pitts and Thomas Pitts; and four sisters, Etta Schmitz, Zelphia Wolverton, Norma Roark and Martha Ricker. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. Murl Nash officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Point Cemetery in Iberia.
