Jackie C. Mayfield

Jackie C. Mayfield, 69, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born November 7, 1942, in West Plains, Missouri, a son of Charles G. and Mildred (Warmick) Mayfield. He attended West Plains High School in West Plains, Missouri. On November 28, 1970, Jackie was united in marriage in McGirk, Missouri, to Myrtle Jinson, who survives at their home. Jackie worked as a tire repairman for Loethen Oil Company from 1971-1984. He attended Solid Rock Family Church. Jackie enjoyed fishing, baking cookies for the hospital, coin collecting, helping others in need, spending time with his children and grandchildren, watching western movies, listening to Bluegrass music, and collecting soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Along with his wife Myrtle, Jackie is also survived by two sons: Jackie C. Mayfield Jr. of Jefferson City and Keith J. Mayfield (wife Terri L.) of Jefferson City; two daughters: Frances I. Ball of Jefferson City and Sabrina S. Koon (husband Kevin) of Portland, Oregon; his mother: Mildred Mayfield of West Plains; four brothers: Raymond Mayfield of West Plains, Robert Mayfield of West Plains, Lynn Mayfield of the state of Indiana, and James Mayfield of West Plains; three sisters: Loretta Jinson of California, Missouri, Joyce Stewart of West Plains, and Rita Langston of West Plains; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father: Charles G. Mayfield; one brother: Preston Mayfield; and one grandson: Michael Ball. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Solid Rock Family Church, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Skiles officiating. Interment will follow in Longview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association or Solid Rock Family Church.
