John B. Boehmer U.S. Veteran

June 12, 1929 - July 10, 2012

John B. Boehmer, 83, passed away in Stockton, California, on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. He was born June 12, 1929, in Rich Fountain, Mo., to the late Adolph and Cecilia Kloeppel Boehmer and spent the last 50 years here in the San Joaquin Valley. A US Navy Veteran, John drove trucks for over 20 years, and enjoyed every minute out on the road. During his career he drove for Fleming Foods and United Grocers. A devout Catholic, John was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and the Western Catholic Union. In his spare time he enjoyed playing bingo and was active as a bingo announcer for many years at the Senior Citizen Center in Livermore. He also cherished his friends at Merrill Gardens were they gathered often for Wii bowling and a friendly game of chicken foot domino's. John treasured his family dearly and looked forward to his trips back home when he would visit the farm. John leaves behind five siblings: Catherine Boillot of Camdenton, Mo., George Boehmer of Frankfort, Germany, Geraldine Neeley, Lillian Boehmer, and Bernadette Lootens, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; stepchildren: Kathy Kennedy, Mary Thomas, Rick Bowen and Jim Bowen. He was also blessed with two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Mr. Boehmer was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Alice Boehmer and two brothers, Francis and Alex Boehmer. Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., is handling funeral arrangements for the Boehmer family. A visitation was held Monday, July 16, 2012, beginning at 4:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in our chapel. A Mass was held in John's honor on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 165 W. Easton Ave. He will be laid to rest privately beside his wife Alice at the Tracy Public Cemetery.
