David Williams (Veteran)
David A. Williams, age 75, of Loose Creek, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. David was born December 13, 1936, in Loose Creek, a son to the late Charles and Augusta (Hug) Williams. David was a 1954 graduate of Fatima High School and graduated from Linn State Technical College in 1963. On August 11, 1962, David was united in marriage to Dorothy J. Backes in Loose Creek. She survives of the home. David had worked as a Planning Director for SEMA. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek, an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Bonnots Mill Council #2027, a member of the Immaculate Conception Church Choir, active in the Boy Scouts of America for many years, and served as the secretary-treasurer of the Golden Years Apartments in Loose Creek from 1986 to 2004. David was an Army Veteran and was a member of American Legion Post #5 in Jefferson City. David enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great- grandchild and telling a good joke. In addition to his wife, David is survived by: two sons, Doug Williams and his wife, Linda, and Dale Williams and his wife Sharon all of Loose Creek; three grandchildren, Rachel (Chris) Bauer, Aiden and Emerson Williams; one great-grandchild, Edie Bauer; two brothers-in-law, Herbert Lock and Bill Eickhoff and one sister-in-law, Ann Williams, all of Loose Creek; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by: two brothers, Herbert and Leo "Sonny" Williams; three sisters, Lillian Lock, Irene Eickhoff, and an infant sister, Mary Catherine Williams; and one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Williams. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Don Antweiler as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Immaculate Conception School.
