Mrs. Alice E. Petree, age 67 years, of Hartsburg, Mo., died Friday, January 6, 2012, at her home. Alice was born June 11, 1944, in Iberia, Mo., the daughter of Everett and Dorothy Alexander Jones. She was married to Phillip Cahow and later to David Petree. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Alice was employed as a Corrections Officer at the Jefferson City Correctional Center for several years prior to her retirement in 1996. Alice enjoyed playing bingo, going to the riverboat to gamble, and loved spending time with her grandchildren over the summer. Survivors include: her special friend, James Reed; one son, Larry L. Cahow of Baton Rouge, La.; three brothers, Charles Jones and his wife Goldie of Lee's Summit, Mo., Darrell Jones and his wife Diane of Bourbon, Mo., and Randy Jones of Otterville, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Dorothy Jones; one son, William D. Cahow; and one daughter, Daviny D. Petree. A private family memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Graveside services and interment will be held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Iberia, Mo.
