Jerry Wayne "JB" Branch

Jerry Wayne "JB" Branch, 50, of Taos, died Friday, December 30, 2011, at his home. He was born December 3, 1961, in Tuscumbia, a son of William "Bill" and Genevieve Scheulen Branch. On June 27, 1992, JB was united in marriage at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos to Elaine Joannes, who survives at their home. JB was a driver for over 30 years for Allied Waste and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He loved watching sports, especially when his children were playing. He enjoyed coaching and assisting their teams. JB was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys and Stealers softball. He liked being outdoors, fishing and hunting, and was very proud of his '68 Mustang. Other survivors include his three children: Blake, Kalli, and Heath, of the home; his mother: Genevieve Scheulen Branch of Meta; his step-mother: Naomi Branch of Moberly; four brothers: Warren Branch and wife Vicky of Grove Springs, Larry "Pint" Branch of Jefferson City, Darrell "Bo" Branch and companion Renee of Meta, Kevin "Corky" Branch of Jefferson City; one sister: Debra Barnett and husband Ricky of Lebanon; brothers and sisters-in-law: Cindy Joannes of Taos, Mike Joannes and wife Cheryl of Farley, Debbie Joannes of Kansas City, Steve Joannes and wife Sandy of Taos, Mary Rice and husband Doug of Parkville, Becky Russell and husband Randy of Taos; a step-brother: Paul Fuller of Jefferson City; and three half- sisters: Rachel Hartman and husband Eric of Columbia, Cheryl Branch of Milan, and Esther Logsdon of Centralia. He was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Branch; great-grandparents, Roy and Nancy Pearl Branch, George and Elizabeth Scheulen; one brother, Marcus Branch; a nephew, Travis Barnett; his father and mother-in-law, Don and Lorine Joannes; and a sister-in-law, Barb Heislen. Friends will be received from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Taos Knights of Columbus Hall, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Wayne Boyer officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Branch Children's Educational Fund.
