Aylene Roling

Aylene Isabelle Roling, 93, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012, at Villa Ventura Retirement Community in Kansas City. She was born November 23, 1918 in Fulton, the daughter of the late Walter L. and Ethel Hughes Pyles of Holts Summit. On June 1, 1946, Aylene was united in marriage to Ralph E. Roling, who preceded her in death on January 20, 2004. Ralph and Aylene lived in the Jefferson City area for over 60 years. Aylene was a 1937 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She was employed with Tweedie Shoe Factory and retired as an administrative assistant for the Library Services Center, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Aylene enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, playing cards, spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks, watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball games, listening to country music, dancing, crocheting and spending time with her friends and family. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel special and valued. She is survived by one son: Steve Roling and his wife Judi of Kansas City; two grandchildren: Stephanie LaFaver and her husband Jeremy LaFaver of Kansas City, Susie Hope Roling and her husband Charles Menifee of Kansas City; three great-grandchildren: Isabelle LaFaver, Eli Menifee, Luci Menifee; three sisters-in-law: Margaret Ann Bode, Bernice Roling and Sylvia Roling; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, John Pyles, and one sister, Leila Finley. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 3, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in the Resurrection Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Brazito-Honey Creek Lions Club or Butterfield Youth Services in Marshall.
