Marty Bernard "Putter" Wieberg, 60, of Westphalia, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis. He was born July 9, 1952, in Jefferson City, the son of Alfred August and Mildred Gertrude (Temmen) Wieberg. His parents survive in Westphalia. Putter was a 1971 graduate of Fatima High School. He served in the United States Army from 1972-1975. He was united in marriage on June 15, 1974, in Westphalia to Susan Patricia Massman. Putter worked for Wayne Bernskoetter Construction for the last 30 years. Previously he had worked for Dick Bexten Cabinet Shop. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the American Legion. Putter has been making "Putter's Popcorn" for the last thirteen years for numerous community events. Putter enjoyed farming, hunting, and the saw mill. He especially loved being with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Putter is survived by three children: Emily (Marty) Buscher, Rich Fountain; Eric (Lisa) Wieberg, Westphalia; Ethan (Kate) Wieberg, Folk; 11 grandchildren, Macy, Makayla, Max, Mindy, Miley Buscher; Payton, Jaiden, Stella, Jack Wieberg; Bryce and Rylie Wieberg; six siblings, Tom (Clara) Wieberg, Taos; Dan (Julie) Wieberg, Jefferson City; Randy Wieberg, Westphalia; Arlene (Sam) Samson, Westphalia; Darlene (Jim) Massman, Westphalia; Sue (Leon) Lauberth, Westphalia; and his father and mother-in-law, Joe and Dora Massman, Westphalia. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia with the Rev. Mark S. Smith and the Rev. Philip E. Niekamp officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
