Mr. Jeff T. Walz, age 55 years, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, August 23, 2012, at the Capital Region Medical Center. Jeff was born February 14, 1957, in St. Louis, the son of Herbert C. and Janet Holmes Walz. He was married on January 15, 2005, in Jefferson City, to Vicki Burks. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Jeff was a 1975 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He was employed as the Office Services Coordinator with the Missouri Dept. of Labor for the past 22 years. Jeff was a member of Capital City Christian Church. He enjoyed working on waterfalls, barbequing, and playing computer games. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He prided himself in beautifying the wooded areas of his mother's property. Survivors include: his wife, Vicki Walz; his mother, Janet Walz and her husband Paul Urzi Sr. of Jefferson City; one daughter, Sara Hankins and her husband Jake of Holts Summit; one step-son, Bryan Manes and his wife LeAnn of New Bloomfield; two sisters, Dian Walz Burkett and her husband Ron of New Bloomfield and Holly Walz Oberkrom and her husband Gary of Jefferson City; four brothers, Paul Walz and his wife Marlee of Columbia, Ted Walz and his wife Cheri of Hartsburg, Matt Walz of Camdenton, and Joe Walz and his wife Ellen of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Melayni Manes and Saydi Manes; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Milo and Esther Walz and Theodore and Stella Holmes, and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be at Capital City Christian Church from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 26, 2012, and from 9:30 until 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 27, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 27, 2012, at Capital City Christian Church with Pastor Don Lewis and Pastor Don Fankhauser officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Assn. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
