October 23, 1927 - April 19, 2012
Mildred Ann Kemple, of Jefferson City, went to meet her Savior on Thursday, April 19, 2012. She was born October 23, 1927, in Linn, Mo., the daughter of the late Theodore and Gertrude (Niekamp) Maasen. On March 28, 1947, Mildred was united in marriage at St. George Church in Linn, to F. Glen Kemple, who preceded her in death on January 20, 1984. She graduated from Linn High School. A homemaker all of her life, Mildred operated a home day care for many years, affecting the lives of many young people in the community. During retirement, she volunteered at Capital Region Medical Center for 10 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Immaculate Conception Immaculata Club and Immaculate Conception Prayer Line. Mildred was an excellent cook and made delicious meals for her family. "Anyone can cook, it's how you season that makes it taste good," she said. Mildred was a fine seamstress and made many outfits for her family. She enjoyed fishing, square dancing, playing cards, and loved to tell a good joke. Mildred is survived by three sons: Alan Kemple, Randy (Stephanie) Kemple, and Russell Kemple, all of Jefferson City; one daughter: Glenda (Rick) Sundermeyer of New Bloomfield; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother: Arthur Maasen; six sisters: Hanna Schaefer, Matilda Maasen, Frances Dulle, Amelia Jacquin, Alice Chandler and Leona Grefrath.
