Hildor Hansen (Veteran)

Mr. Hildor Donald Hansen, age 88 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center. Don was born March 5, 1923, in Osseo, Wisconsin, the son of Hildor V. and Vauna B. Bowen Hansen. He was married on July 11, 1959, in Mt. Sterling, Mo. to Selma E. Kreter who preceded him in death on April 6, 2008. He served in the United States Army during World War II in France, Germany, and Austria and after various assignments in the United States and overseas, he was discharged after 16 years of honorable service. A resident of the Jefferson City area for many years, Don joined the Missouri Army National Guard and was employed as an Administrative Supply Technician for several years and retired after 17 years of service. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Schubert, Mo.; a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003; and a member of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5. Don loved fishing, hunting, being on the Osage River with his pontoon and camping on overnight trips. He was known to imbibe a few Buds with his many good friends at the local pub. Don is survived by his children from a previous marriage: his sons, Jay D. Hansen Stecha of Arcadia, Wisconsin and Daniel V. Hansen Stecha of Spring Hill, Florida; one daughter, Charlene Rae Moak of Phoenix, Oregon; five grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Visitation will be at St. John's Lutheran Church in Schubert, Mo. from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Schubert, Mo., with the Reverend Gerald Scheperle officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church.
