Janice Lehman

Mrs. Janice Sue Lehman, age 69 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., went home to her Heavenly Father after fighting a courageous battle with many illnesses on Sunday, October 16, 2011, surrounded by her family. Janice was born February 3, 1942, in Dodge City, Kansas, the daughter of Donald and Katherine Kriesel Cordes. She was married on November 12, 1966, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Sylvester Lehman. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Janice was a licensed in home day care provider for 30 years. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and friends, enjoyed playing cards, and traveling the United States. Her passion in life was sewing. Survivors include: her husband of 44 years, Sylvester Lehman; three daughters, Kathy Goetz and her husband Mike of Brazito, Mo., Laura Berendzen of Jefferson City, Mo., and Kim Dennis and her husband Steve of Jefferson City, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Stacey Goetz, Justin Goetz and his wife Darice, Cassidy Berendzen, Anthony Berendzen, Richard Dennis II, Shelia Dennis, Millayna Dennis, and Carli Dennis; one great-granddaughter, Macie Goetz; several nieces, nephews, and her beloved Poodle, Missy. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Larry Cordes. Visitation will be at St. Martin Catholic Church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon Friday, October 21, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12:00 noon Friday, October 21, 2011, at St. Martin Catholic Church, with the Reverend Ed Schmidt officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at St. Martin Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Hospice Compassus or the American Heart and Stroke Assn.
