Mike Anderson

Mike Anderson, 69, of Centertown, Mo., passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Mo. He was born on October 3, 1942, the son of Edward Lewis and Geneva Nadine (Harmon) Anderson both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on March 14, 1965, in California, Mo. to Janet Ziehmer who survives of the home. He was a member of the Centertown Baptist Church. He owned and operated Anderson Underground Construction, cable burial; Anderson Truck Co., heavy haulers; and Anderson Truck Trailer and Equipment, truck sales. Mike served on the Linn Technical College Board, was the Fire Chief of Centertown and a volunteer fireman, he also donated land for the Centertown Senior Housing. He loved to watch NASCAR racing, and had attended several races. He loved his grandkids and lived to help Kenny at the farmer's market. Survivors include: one son, Kenny Anderson and wife Ronda of Centertown, Mo.; one daughter, Kim Herin and husband Tad of Ashland, Mo.; five grandchildren, Megan and Dylan Anderson, Casey and Connor Slattery and Campbell Herin; also several brothers in-law and sisters in-law, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Michelle Anderson on October 29, 1969, and one brother, John Guy Anderson on May 5, 2011. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, 2011, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be at a later date at the Centertown Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Steve Jones. Memorials are suggested to the grandchildren of Mike Anderson College Fund c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak St., California, MO 65018.
